Looking for something creative to do with the kids while they are still off for the holidays? I remembered these vintage graphics of adorable hinged paper dolls graphics I had in my stash and had to share. Like little 2D marionettes, these figures – in their gorgeous French country colors – would be perfect printed at any size and easily posed in various positions when using simple Paper Craft Brads like these I found at Paper Source in black:
Craft stores sell them in a variety of colors such as gold, silver or copper, but you might also be able to find them in office supply stores as well.
So here’s 3 beauties to inspire your creativity – a marionette, a fair maiden, and a circus horse. Simply right click on the image, select “Save Image As” and save the graphics file to your computer.
Adjust their size as needed, print them up, carefully cut them out, and make something fun!
My suggestions? Here’s a few ideas for my paper dolls:
- string them on a ribbon garland
- secure them in a shadowbox at various depths with a gorgeous patterned background
- attach them to wooden dowels or decorative straws and prop them in a jar of jelly beans or glass beads for use in a future puppet show
The possibilities are endless! Be sure to share your projects with me via email or send me a link. If you decide to share them online, I’d surely appreciate a link back to my site. Thanks and happy crafting!
