I am always on the hunt for new resources and design inspiration sites, so when I recently found a tiny unassuming link to shopterrain.com on Anthropologie’s website, it piqued my interest. I mean, if Anthropologie was throwing a notion, it had to be worth checking out. And it was.
Terrain is a gorgeous meld of indoor and outdoor – greenery, décor, lighting, planters, serveware, and more. It’s tastefully organized with clean photography and a simple layout that’s easy to navigate and addictive to browse. I found a lot of my favorite decorative elements – including metal and zinc, lots of patina and weathering, and washed and worn fabrics – that are all typical of that French Country feel I so adore, but there’s also more refined elements like brass, glass and floral patterns that easily work into other design profiles as well.
And then, there’s the BLOG. Chock full of useful tips and tricks, you’ll find great inspiration for decorating and entertaining like recipes, cocktails, holiday décor using items found in their shop, gardening and more, plus references to some of their own favorite articles around the web.
For the lucky few that happen to live in the right area, there’s even 2 retail shops with a restaurant – yes food – to give you a truly hands on experience. I can only imagine how long I could get stuck in that place. Lucky for me, with PA and CT addresses, it’s a little too far north for a day trip from Houston.
So, don’t just take my word for it… head over to shopterrain.com to get some fresh inspiration for this season and beyond.
