Simple Holiday Decor Additions

Sometimes it’s the simplest little things that bring out the “holiday” in your home. Like this silky red ribbon on the cotton wreath (get one here) that hangs on my hall closet every single day of the year. Before today, it probably brought to mind words like farmhouse, or rustic, or vintage… but today it says “Christmas is coming.” A simple holiday decor addition that didn’t cost me a thing extra since I have this ribbon in my craft supplies all the time.

Look around your home right now. What’s in your everyday decor that could use a little holiday flair? Maybe it’s the dough bowl on the kitchen counter…

Red and green potpourri from your local discount store adds a touch of traditional holiday color and a lovely scent to the kitchen counter area.

or the topiary on the hall table…

That little table down the hall… whip up a quick bow and add it to the boxwood topiary that’s already a lovely green everyday.

or the candlesticks by the fireplace…

A leftover scrap from that topiary in the hall adds a touch of holiday charm when pinned to a candlestick with a tiny little pin.

You don’t have to go out and buy a bunch of new decorations when you have so many great “base” pieces in your home every day of the year. A little ribbon and some imagination is all you need.

What do you have in your home decor now that you will be adding a little holiday flair to this year?

Happy holidays~

Thanks Stacey! I agree. I like to have a couple key areas for my holiday decor to really stand out and then some little touches here and there as more subtle reminders. I just don’t have the energy to decorate the “whole” house and not cry when it comes time to take it all down. Have a great weekend!
